Our mission is to engage and enlighten students of all ages through exploration-based experiences that develop a lifelong appreciation of nature and an understanding that all living things are linked.
Gentian Creek Preserve, Inc. is registered with the State of Georgia as a private non-profit organization. The entity also has been granted 501c3 status with the IRS. The 255-acre property is under a conservation easement with Tall Timbers.
Maintaining the learning center and trails as a resource for area schools.
Jerry and Marta Turner have leased The Barn (Nature Center) and trails throughout the property to Gentian Creek Preserve Foundation for 20 years. The Turners will provide funding through the foundation for the renovation of the barn/nature center, operational expenses, maintenance of the trail network and transects for science excursions, 12-month biological study for curriculum development, and for other resources needed for the outdoor science education program.
The foundation board will grant access to the learning center and nature trails to local schools, youth organizations, and adult organizations exclusively for outdoor learning focused on studies of native flora and fauna, water and soil quality, ecology, and other areas of science.

Meet Jerry and Marta
